This article will provide an overview of our used boat reconditioning and inspection process along with the warranties provided and offered with every pre-owned boat we sell.

Our partnership with a local boat club enables us to maintain a nearly constant inventory of pre-owned fishing boats, pontoon boats, bowriders, and dual consoles. These boats are initially serviced and maintained by the boat club's mechanics and come to H&H Marine for a full reconditioning and inspection process after they are retired from their fleet.

Used Boat Warranties

We understand that purchasing a used boat can be a cause for concern, but our factory-trained technicians, detailers, and warranties, both offered and included, ensure that any major concerns are eliminated. As a growing dealership in San Diego, California, we stand behind our products and strive to build and maintain our reputation by providing safe and enjoyable boats for our clients. Moreover, most of our pre-owned boats are sold at prices that are significantly below the fair market value.

Here, we would like to provide more information on the services that are included in our used boat reconditioning and inspection process. The process involves an initial visual inspection to identify any immediate needs, followed by the download of the engine run history from the engine's ECU (computer). An engine compression test is then performed to measure the pressure produced in the engine's cylinders and diagnose any potential performance problems. Our mechanics then provide an engine service, followed by a test drive to check for any issues. If necessary, we perform any needed repairs or replacements, as well as gel coat repair. After the final test drive, the boat is thoroughly detailed and cleaned. An engine download or run history report is a diagnostic report that provides important information about the engine's performance and operating conditions. This report can help diagnose problems, identify wear and tear patterns, and optimize performance. However, access to this data requires reliance on a certified Yamaha or Mercury dealer.

At H&H Marine, we take pride in offering some level of warranty on practically every used boat sold at our dealership, often at no cost to the new owner. For instance, any used boat that has gone through our reconditioning process comes with a 30-day warranty on pumps, lights, and switches. If you live far away, we are happy to mail reasonably-sized parts covered within this warranty. For used boats with a Mercury Outboard, we transfer the remaining manufacturer's warranty to the new owner upon delivery, providing free engine coverage of generally at least 6+ months. This warranty transfer is a rare service in California, which we are proud to offer. In the case of Yamaha Outboards, we offer a 1-year limited engine warranty through Brunswick Product Protection's aftermarket warranty program, and we cover the cost of the warranty. The warranty can be upgraded at an additional cost for more services and coverage of up to four years.
